Tribute/Benefit Concert - Chicago Reader

Since 1999, Fabian Guerra nurtured countless Chicago musical groups as manager, booking agent, mentor, and friend with his Quest Management. From his humble beginnings at Wicker Park's Big Horse Lounge, Fabian began booking unforgettable shows like Quest's 1st Anniversary at Metro and the Cal City Crawl, where one of the bands he managed attempted to set the world record for most paid performances in 10 hours in one city. On June 6th, the day of his daughter's 12th birthday, the Chicago music community lost Fabian Guerra. To celebrate the legacy of his life, children, passion for music, and to help raise money for his family, local groups Forty Piece Choir, Wolcott, Ruck LaRou, Waste, Nave, and Troy Petty will pay tribute and perform at the Double Door. The cover price is $8.00, with all door money and raffle prize proceeds donated directly to the Guerra family.

A Night For Fabian

A Night For Fabian by Marcie Garcia

On June 6, the world lost a man known to many as a dear friend. In his 41 years, Fabian Guerra of Chicago, lived life to the fullest. As a storm chaser for Alert 1 Weather, the former band manager who was a staple in the Chicago music scene, gave up one wild ride for another by switching gears and hitting the road whenever the skies turned ominous.

On Saturday, July 25 2009 friends and family will keep his adventurous spirit alive, paying tribute to Guerra the best way they know how – with music. Forty Piece Choir, Wolcott, Ruck La' Rou, Waste, Nave, and Troy Petty will reunite for one special evening to honor and remember their friend and former band manager at a venue in which Guerra was a familiar face, the Double Door. Tickets are only $8 and all proceeds from the benefit concert will go towards the Fabian Guerra Fund (FGF) and towards his beloved family.
